Delta Sigma Theta gives $50,000 in support of students at Dillard University

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Donated $50,000 to President Kimbrough’s SAFE FUND for student emergencies during his Inaugural concert as the seventh president of Dillard University.

This donation was presented to Dr. Kimbrough by Mrs. Cynthia M.A. Butler-McIntyre the 24th National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She was initiated into the Sorority through the Beta Gamma Chapter located at Dillard University. Mrs. Cynthia M.A. McIntyre announced the gift at the annual Fall meeting of the Dillard University National Alumni Association Meeting and did a formal presentation at the Inaugural concert on the same night.  It is hoped that the gift will motivate the other Greek letter organization of the NPHC to do the same.

Dr. Walter Kimbrough is the seventh President of Dillard University. Dillard University is a private, historically black liberal arts college in New Orleans, Louisiana. Founded in 1930 by the merger of earlier institutions that dated back to 1869, it is affiliated with the United Church of Christ and the United Methodist Church.  Valda La STEWART-Williams.
