Dr. Millie Charles recipient of the prestigious Times-Picayune Loving Cup

Millie Charles is a beloved figure in the labor of social work, social justice and education. She is the founding Dean of the Social of Social Work at Southern University in New Orleans. She was recently awarded the historic Times-Picayune Loving Cup for her endless service to the New Orleans community. She joins the ranks of other Dillard University historical giants who were also recipients of the award such as Edgar B. Stern, Warren Kearny, Edith Stern, Albert Dent and Rosa Freeman Keller. Dr. Albert Dent former president of Dillard University was the first African American to receive this award in 1976. Congratulations Dr. Charles you are a true daughter of Dillard.
