The New Orleans Museum of Art is currently showcasing an exhibition of muralist Hale Woodruff murals “Rising Up” which is housed at Talladega College. The murals displays scenes from the famous Amistad Case. The Amistad Case is very important to Dillard University as the abolitionist who supported the case established the American Missionary Association (AMA). The AMA founded schools for African Americans after the Civil War across the nation. Continue reading

The rain did not stop the party on Friday, May 09, 2014 in Kearny Hall Dining Facility. Despite a flash flood warning alumni of DU from the Class of 1959 all the way to the Class of 2013 braved the weather to attend the inaugural midnight breakfast party. When they arrived they were greeted by the DUNAA Executive Board members, the music of DJ Raj Smoove, a southern style breakfast including shrimp & grits, and an open bar. Continue reading

The annual spring national meeting was extremely productive. The Dillard University National Alumni Association (DUNAA) Executive Board gave updates and reports concerning their committee work. National President Pamela Francois highlighted several accomplishments that included the national alumni conference call with the university, the chartering of a new chapter, the reactivation of old chapters and achieving our official 501c3 organizational status from the federal government was just few of the highlights.
