DU Alumnus Marion Bracy is a 1979 graduate of Blount High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Dillard University, New Orleans in 1984. He is the Vice President of Facility Planning and Management at Xavier University and has served in the higher education field for over 30 years, 18 of which were spent at Xavier. Additionally, he is a 2007 graduate of APPA Professional Leadership Academy. His professional affiliations include the Association of Physical Plant Administrators where he formerly served as Board Member and Southeast Regional President in 2005-2006, the International Facility Management Association, the Advisory Board for Louisiana Federal Property Assistance Agency, and a former National Board Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He is a current board member of the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, where he chairs the Strategy Committee.
In 2007, Mr. Bracy was awarded the Mattie T. Blount High School Legacy Award. In 2014, he was awarded the APPA Meritorious Award. During his tenure as VP for Facility Planning and Management, Xavier has earned numerous construction project awards, including awards for three silver LEED certified buildings and ten National Association of Home Builders gold LEED certified residences.
He is married to Judy Ewell Bracy and they have three children and three grandchildren.
